Old McDonald had a...

Let me preface this by saying Conner has always called "poo poo" "yuck".
So, today I'm drying my hair and I see him run by me while saying, "Gotta yuck!". I tell him okay, and let him go about his business. I start to go back to drying my hair and he has shut the door to the bathroom. All of a sudden I hear him singing Old McDonald. Only he sings, "Old McDonald had a yuck!"
What an imagination he has! LOL

GOOOAAALLLL!!!

Well, Conner has started playing soccer. It is Tiny Tot soccer at the local YMCA. So far, so good. Tuesday was his first game and at first he was cheering when the team did good. Then, after a while he was getting frustrated that he wasn't making the goals...lol  After half time Billy (or coach Billy -he's coaching the team) gave Conner a pep talk (aka scolding, followed by a pop on the butt...lol). After that Conner went back to cheering and high fives all around when the team scored. He even high fived the other team when they scored.

My speller!

He can spell his name! :) For the past couple of weeks I've been making him color sheets and putting his name on there. I would spell out his name and get him to say it with me.
Today, we were coloring together on some blank sheets of paper and I wrote his name and he said he was going to count the letters. Then, he started spelling his name by reading the letters off of the paper. I was super impressed!
Also, on Sunday evening we were at Bruno's getting grocery's and we were checking out when he says, "Mama, look number 3!"(the number of the check out line). That shocked me because I just thought he knew the number 2 from when we stayed at a hotel and we told him to push the #2 button to go to our hotel room. So, after that I asked him what the other numbers were and he called them out to me. All of them except #6. When I asked him that one he started getting silly.
I guess staying at home with him isn't so bad after all. He now knows all of his colors and shapes. He can spell his name by reading the letters and by memory. And he can recognize the numbers 1-5. I am very proud of him.

Bzzz

...that would be the sound of the clippers buzzing Conner's hair off....ALL off.
Last Thursday, I was trimming his hair and he turned and caused me to cut a big hunk out of his hair. So, then I had to get the clippers out and shave his hair...ALL off. I cried for about an hour afterwards. That was only the second time I've used that clipper kit, but I told Billy that we are throwing them away.

He's an Angel.

I have been reassured....
Since staying at home with Conner I've found how active and strong willed he is. I was starting to think I was going to have one of "those" children. Well, a couple of weeks ago Conner and I went to Happy Times, the daycare where my mom is the director because they were doing pictures. Conner and I hung out there that day. Let's just say I now know Conner is NOT one of "those" kids. After seeing some of the children's behavior at the daycare, I now know Conner is just ver active and needs to expand his energy.

The funny things he says...

I love how children say funny things. The other day we were down at a friends house who has property on the water of off Fish River. My friend, her little boy and I were all in the water swimming, floating, you know stuff you do in the water. Conner was in this humongous float that they have.(It looks like two benches connected by some super strong mesh at the bottom where water can come through) Conner was just content staying up there. I asked him if he wanted to get in the water with us and he got to the side of the float, had his feet over, then looked at me and said, "Umm...maybe not!" Where he gets these things, I have no idea...lol

Yuck

Just thought I'd let everyone know...Conner "yucked" in the potty yesterday. He even told me he had to go when we were at Dairy Queen last night. I know you probably think that this isn't something you want to read about, but it's a major accomplishment for the little boy who has been "anal retentive."
